2011 GOSPEL HERALD SURVEY OF CHURCHES OF CHRIST IN CANADA
Dear Brethren, March 31, 2011
Your congregation is cordially invited to participate in the Gospel Herald Survey of Churches of Christ
in Canada for 2011.
We share your concern for the progress of our fellowship as we respond to Christ's commission to “Disciple the nations!”. We hope that the insights gained from this survey will inform us all and
energize our efforts. Having conducted surveys in 1981, 1991 and 2001, this present initiative seeks to
widen our historical perspective and update our understanding of where we are now.
This mailing includes a survey response form, a set of instructions, and a return-addressed envelope for
those making a “hard-copy” submission.
Copies of these same materials are available for download on the Gospel Herald website at
http://gospelherald.org for those choosing to respond electronically. The survey file is an “Excel File” (xls) and is found under the pull-down menu entitled 'Survey' . We do encourage this second option as
it will speed delivery and facilitate processing.
The information supplied by each congregation will be held in strictest confidence. We will report the
information collected from all congregations in such a way that individual churches remain
anonymous. The only exception to this rule is: we plan to include a list of congregations by name
which have disbanded and or been organized since 2001. No other piece of congregation-specific
information will appear in the survey.
In order for us to support your participation in this survey, we ask the person who will take the lead in
gathering your congregational response to identify himself or herself to us. Please contact Geoffrey
Ellis with this information - by email at (ghellis@gmail.com, by mail at 120 Moccasin Dr., Waterloo,
ON N2L 4C3, or by phone at 519-885-3702.
May 15 is set as the target date for receiving the survey responses.
Thank you for your participation in this effort.
Yours sincerely,
Geoff Ellis,
On behalf of the GH 2011 survey team: David Dunn, Geoffrey Ellis, and David Knutson.
PS: Copies of the reports flowing from the 2001 survey and published in the September 2002 issue of
the Gospel Herald, pages 7-9 are available at the Gospel Herald Website alongside the survey
form.
